Jimmy would have done us all a favor (and himself) if he would have called it quits around “Coconut Telegraph”.. Except for a few good songs after that release, it’s the same ol’sound, a few cord changes and different lyrics.. And this review comes from someone who’s first Buffett LP purchase was “A1A” in 1977.. Jimmy, you had your time in the sun.. Duval Street and all who knew and loved you back when you were having fun and somewhat hungry are begging you.. Run your clubs, sell your grass skirts and ‘parrot related’ gear, make your money and leave the music to those who have something fresh and new to deliver.. Please..

Only for the very forgiving Buffet fan. Jimmy Buffet appears to have gone through the motions putting out a uninspired album for the sake of getting something out. I have been a Buffet fan for 35 years and disappointment best describes my feeling about Buffet Hotel.

Great Lyrics but some songs a little twangy and missing that tropical flavor that Jimmy has been known for. Overall – clean, great guitars, and very listen-able.

I want to make a reservation at the Buffet hotel, if the music there in Mali sounds this good. Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band never sounded better. Each song makes me feel different. My favorite track is “A Lot To Drink About”. This is a song where Jimmy sings about the problems in America. This is perhaps the funniest drinking song I have ever heard, but the lyrics of the song are insightful. Another good song is “Beautiful Swimmers”. This is Jimmy’s tribute to all things in nature that can swim so effortlessly. He makes a reference to Marilyn Monroe in this song. “Turn Up The Heat And Chill The Rose” is a song in which Jimmy pays tribute to a bottle of wine and having fun with friends. I am not a wine drinker, but I think this song sounds pretty good. “Surfing In A Hurricane” is a song that rocks. This is a song about living life to the fullest. I love the guitar riffs on this track. “Summerzcool” is a fun upbeat song about enjoying life. Mike Utley sounds great on the keyboards. Mac Mcanally is equally good on the electric guitar here and throughout this disc. “Rhumba Man” is a song that makes me feel good and makes me want to dance. “Life Short Call Now” is a more subtle song. It makes me reflect on the things I don’t have in life like a woman. This is a kind of song that forces me to make the most of my time on earth. It is a very deep song. “We Learned To Be Cool From You” is a song that really soothes me. “Wings” has a country sound to it with the harmonica and banjo playing. This tune makes me want to tap my feet. I love this new music from Jimmy Buffett and his band.

got this item quickly. has one area where the cd skips, but for a used cd it is fine.
