This product might be great for all I know. NOT EASY TO INSTALL…..I am not a technical mechanic and neither is my son or husband. Even though we were told it was easy, it was not….Therefore, I could not use it,and wasted my money. It was shipped on time, and in good shape, but let’s not forget that I ruined my warranty with Apple for taking it apart myself…. UGH….

After 1 month, noticed a scratch on the screen. These are NOT supposed to have scratches. (or at least the original Iphones won’t scratch easily)
After over 1 year on the original screen, not a single scratch, 1 month with this replacement and it’s scratched. (ouch)
Everything else was fine, the installation was simple, it worked as advertised (except the quality of the glass material).

Hi all,
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to use my iPhone after I did this replacement… once I made it, I immediately had the iTunes icon with the USB cable connecting image, requiring a software restoring but once I try to do it: a message box appears saying “The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (28)”.
I have tried unsuccesfully several methods to make it work:
Install latest version of iTunes.
Restart my PC and try again.
Restore iPhone from another PC.
Create a new Admin account and restore from there.
DFU mode.
Downgrade it to version 2.2.1.
Nothing has worked. Someone knows what could be happening ?
Thank you all.

The Screen was very difficult to replace on the iPhone. The tools that were provided in this kit were made of some cheap plastic that basically snapped apart while I was attempting to pry open the phone. There are other tools needed as well so I ended up having to go to the store to buy more tools and spend more money. At the end of it all the screen was barely replaced, the wiring was all messed up and the LCD screen had permanent damage. If you are going to buy this kit to replace the screen yourself DO NOT DO IT!! You will just end up having to buy an all new phone as I did. If you are buying this for a “professional” (which no Apple store will do this for you and you have to find some random guy that claims to know what he is doing) than good luck with that! You are better up writing a letter to Apple letting them know they need to re-make the iPhones with more durable screens!

First off, i ordered my screen through “Shop Cell” out of NY. The shipment was prompt and screen itself was a great replacement but they sent 2 sided scotch tape for the adhesive that holds the screen on. This is an issue for 2 reasons – one, you have to cut around the ear and talk piece because the tape covers them up when you apply it; two, the scotch tape is not very tacky, therefore will not hold the new glass to the body of the phone very well. Since the adhesive is a very important aspect of the repair, I rate this product much lower than I would have if they had sent the 3M precut adhesive strips…
The replacement screen looks great and my phone works fine but took some improvising to get this product to work!
